About O2 Valley
Taiwanese bento
Located at 452 University Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94301, O2 Valley operates as a taiwanese restaurant serving Palo Alto in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as asian restaurant, bubble tea store, seafood restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Palo Alto; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in California are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (650) 613-1700. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is order.o2-valley.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.3 out of 5 from 159 reviews, which is a strong result for a taiwanese restaurant in Palo Alto and suggests consistent service.
Palo Alto is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Palo Alto follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

O2 Valley in Palo Alto is a great spot for Taiwanese food and drinks. I tried the Auntie Jenny tea, and it was refreshing, flavorful, and not overly sweet. The service was quick, and the atmosphere was casual and welcoming. Definitely worth visiting!

This place has good ratings, so I expected the food to be good, but I was terribly disappointed. The prices are high for the type of food offered; it literally tastes like reheated food in fact, I’d say even standard reheated leftovers would taste better than this. I came here because I had originally planned to go to Simmer & Steamer but changed my mind after seeing a comment claiming the food at O2Valley was better; however, I was let down the food lacked flavor and wasn't fresh. So, I decided to go to Simmer & Steamer after all why? Because I was still craving Korean food. Unexpectedly, the food there far surpassed O2Valley's in terms of flavor. I had the gochujang chicken, and it was undoubtedly much better than the eel dish I’d had at O2Valley. It seems Simmer & Steamer has a much smaller menu compared to O2Valley; perhaps that’s why their dishes are better they focus more on the preparation. It’s worth noting that it’s a simple dish rice with chicken, kimchi, egg, and onions but it’s perfect if you’re looking for something light.

I ordered through DoorDash and got two bento boxes: Grilled Chicken Cutlet Bento and Grilled Pork Chop Bento. The portions are huge for the price ($22 and $24). One bento box easily kept me full for two meals, so I think it’s a great value! Even though I ordered grilled meat, they actually coat it and fry it before grilling, so it’s still a fried dish. But it tastes so good that I really can’t complain. The best part of these bento boxes is how generous they are with the protein! Besides the main meat, I also got some braised pork over the rice, chicken mixed into the stir-fried vegetables, and a braised egg. That’s a lot of protein! They don’t skimp on the vegetables either. I was completely full from both meals, and everything was delicious. Highly recommend!

Hands down the BEST bento I have had in the U.S. We need more businesses like this - one that treats food seriously and wants to make sure the community is benefitting from great food. Their homemade sauces are fabulous. Would totally come back after our first visit today. A very responsible business.

It doesn’t matter who you are — if you love good food, you need to give this place a try. Definitely one of my go-to spots when I’m craving something hearty and satisfying!
